Transmit Data With Light






Infrared Transmitter Send audio data by light circuit on circuityep.This is a light transmitter receiver project.In this project we will discuss how does light transmit data. Here we use infrared led light to transmit data.

How LED Light Transmit Data?

Light is a form of energy.It lies in the visible spectrum.There are different types of lightwaves

1.Normal visible light

2. Infrared light

3.Ultraviolet rays

4.Lasers

Here we use led lights to transmit data. The audio is provided using a mobile phone.


How does light transmit information

Light Transmitter

Light is having energy commonly known as photon energy. The energy depends on how much power you provided into a light source(here its LED) and how much power the light source can deliver as output(current handling capacity).

The photon carry energy from transmitter point to the receiver end.We need an input audio source to the transmitter section. We cannot directly give audio signal to light source. Here we are going to use a transistor to feed input signal and mix that signal to the light source.

Light Receiver

The transistor act as an amplifier here, sothat the audio signal is amplified with the level of light source almost.

The reverse should happen on the receiver section.Here we need to seperate audio signal from the light source.

Here we can use a photodiode to detect the light signal. The signal from the diode will be so weak. So we must use an amplifier to amplify the weak audio signal and reproduce the audio signal using a normal speaker which act as audio output.
